Gameplay Profile:
Sporting the most powerful combat load out but the least command capabilities and logistic capabilities out of all UEC flagships, the Beowulf II is built to smash a path thru legions of enemies at frightening speed. It has surprising amount of defensive capability and staying power for a Coalition Unit. It can be particularly devastating against enemy expecting a typical hit and run fleet.
The Beowulf carry a Lot of tactical weapons, good planning and course plotting is required to make good use of them. Good planning is also required to make the best use out of small command limit. The lack of flexibility is this flagship’s greatest weakness, since the most assets are installed on the vessel itself; it’s difficult to swap out asset to meet changing tactical situation. And when caught off guard, it can be disabled fairly quickly.

Lore Profile
After the first hunter war the coalition senate began a bid for a replacement of the aging Musashi class combat command ship. Two very similar designs came up - the Detroit class and the Beowulf II. Aries Armaments won the bid with the Detroit but Arcturus Industries threatened to sell the design to the Decklab unless orders were also placed for their vessels. Much controversy later, a handful of hulls of Beowulf IIs were laid down.
Capital vessel construction was already slow without constant funding problems the CASF faced during the interim between the hunter wars. As such the first batch took almost 70 years to finish – just in time to serve in the second hunter war. Ironically, these vessels were almost completely wiped out in defense of Arcturus shipyards; and their counterpart, the Detroit class, met the same fate while defending the Terran homeworlds from the hunters’ final push.
The sole surviving Beowulf II - ECV Sigurd eventually served as flagship of Admiral Frost - the last proponent of capital vessels who preferred carefully planned strategies over flexibility. Under his command the vessel survived some of the most vicious battles in the years following the second hunter war that saw the destruction of many carriers, proving that a good plan can and do often beat quick thinking.
Arcturus Industries eventually rebuilt most of their industrial facilities and produced several more of the juggernauts in the decades following. But the number of these vessels in service can always be counted in one hand. And the honor to command one is rare indeed. Always named after the greatest heroes of the past, the terrible war machines continues to inspire new legends among the stars.
