Gameplay Profile:
The Brigand is an undersized cruiser that is not independent of other ships, and may be considered an over-sized shuttle for those reasons. Because of its size, they are deployed in divisions, thus allowing the undersized bays of most capital ships to carry at least one division of these versatile craft. The deployment number also helps resolve the logistic issue involved with the fact that some of their modules are interchangeable, notably the sensors and electronic warfare modules. With jammers, blinders and sensor ghost generators, to name a few modules, having a composite squadron of Brigands can limit a Brigadier's drone load out, but can turn said Brigadier into a highly flexible electronics warfare unit.
In addition to electronic capabilities, the Brigand is outfitted with a light particle beam turret, as well as a number of short range plasma projectors, light laser turrets, and 5 additional point defense coil guns. As well as a very light missile armament, the Brigand is also fitted to field a single tube for Voreekan-style torpedoes, and can be equipped with stealth torpedoes of significant power. Although this can seem intimidating, these torpedoes are not surgical weapons and are often used on this platform as a diversion, or the tube can be used to launch disposable decoys of limited utility.
