Frontier universe is a hypothetical future where the events in the story for this project take place. As per standard of science fiction, it's considered alternative reality.

Currently, the frontier universe is entirely materialistic and mechanistic. This is done for two reasons - first to eliminate some power game in role-plays, and to be consistent with the attempted realism of the SS&T engine.

A consequence is that only technology and phenomenon with significant scientific backing can be accepted. However, this does not imply said technology or phenomenon has to be accepted by main stream science. For example: Heim theory can be acceptable due its success in predicting the mass of elementary particles, but psychic abilities are not acceptable because the lack of statistical significance.

The Frontier Universe draws a number of inspirations from the OSSBW on the Homeworld Universe Board - Most notably several innovative races. Significant chances have been applied to all of them to make them more believable.

The Timeline for this Universe follows firelance's novels. Due to his current absence, Thorin is responsible for the lore until further notice.
