Plasma autocannon projectiles are modeled as point masses at high temperature. Whenever a collision occurs the heat of the projectile is added to the heat generated by the collision. In addition the projectile continues to lose mass and heat and gain speed in the direction its traveling after its initial launch.

The plasma autocannon are kenetic weapons that fires hollow heavy metal tubes sealed on one end and contains drive plasma. In the loading position, the open end of the tube is connected to reactor via a plasma conduit. Once filled to desirable levels, the tube is rotated to the firing position and released. The camber is then rotated to the refill position where a new tube is installed.
This ubiquitous weapon designed by collective is capable of spitting out a vast amount of ammunition in a very short period of time as its rate of fire is only limited by the rotation rate of the firing chamber assembly. As expected, this weapon runs out of ammunition very quickly, this problem is solved by integrating a fabricator for the shell into the loading mechanism. This solution permit hives and nests to cannibalize just about any metallic wreckage into more auto cannon shells.
Several attempts were made by other civilizations to copy the design, but the success were limited. The collective vessels have a surprisingly robust plasma routing system they use in place of usual power transfer circuit of designs of their vessels. This meant effective operation of this weapon aboard vessels of other civilization requires nothing short of a complete redesign of the vessel.
